On the eastern coast of India, the Konark beach is situated. The beach actually belongs to the state of Orrisa. Orissa is the place which is popular for its temple and its typical beaches but Konark beach is considered to be the finest beach in the world. Throughout the year this beach is visited by many tourists but the best time to be at this place is between October and March as the weather is very pleasant in these months. Apart from beaches the place is also known for its Sun Temple which is just 3km away from the beach all along the Puri road. It is said that the temple is really old was built in 13 century. Konark beach gives a beautiful view of dusk and dawn which becomes eye catching. It is an ideal place for sunbath and a very nice and quiet beach to spend time with calm and peace.

The beach has its own lovely tranquility and a long extend of clean sands which attracts the tourists a lot. From Puri on marine drive the beach is around 32 km away. The beach also gives the facility for swimming and sunbathing. The local fisherman can also continue with their sea activities like sea angling, cruising etc. Tourists also love an idle walk on the beaches. There are small stalls along the beachside which offers a wide variety of ethnic handicrafts as Orissa is popular for its handicraft and there are also some stall which offers paintings on palm leaves and also etching along with stone work done. However there are very few places for accommodation. But tourists can find some of the accommodation places which are quite reasonable. Opposite to the main entrance of Sun Temple there is a bungalow for tourist which is not very expensive. There is also one lodge run by Government which is also quite reasonable. As the beach is yet to be exposed as a famous beach resort but the basic amenities are available. Even the place gives a good communication services to the visitors such as internet, STD, ISD and FAX.
