The Land of the moon god as it is other wise called as the city of Khajuraho is in the state of Madhya Pradesh India. With its history dating back to the 9th to 12th century this rock city is famous for its sculpture and the architectural beauty of its temples. Known till date there are around 80 plus temples in Khajuraho of which only 20 survived the test of time, each one of it with its unique style and design. In the foot of Maniyagarh hills around 25km from Khajuraho is the palace of Rajgarh. Forts of Ajaygarh and Kalinjar which are around 80km are worth a visit. Dhubela museum of Khajuraho has collection of Bundelkhand artifacts and is located around 55km from Khajuraho. The Ken Gharial sanctuary is host to the crocodiles with long snouts. Rich in its wild life with the Sloth bears, the Chetahs and Indian foxes is the Panna national part which is best visited in the months of monsoon post October.
