Lucknow development authority (LDA) came into existence in the year 1974 under the act of Uttar Pradesh Urban Planning & Development which was passed in the year 1973. Lucknow being the capital city of most populated state in India i.e. Uttar Pradesh needs such kind of development body to stay on par with the growing population in the city. Many projects have been undertaken by the development authority to facilitate the new comers to the city and the permanent residents as well. From the inception LDA has been striving hard to provide eco friendly and pollution free residential projects.
Some of popular schemes implemented by the Lucknow development authority are: The Gomti Nagar Scheme drafted for the Lucknow – Faizabad highway which is located close to places like Hazratganj and Vidhan Sabha is a highly applauded housing project. It comprises sector wise crafted residential colonies with appropriate and adequate commercial units, a multiplex, one office complex and encouraging school plots. Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority

The presidential ordinance in 1970 gave birth to the much needed Kolkata metropolitan development authority for the city of Kolkata (formerly known as Calcutta). Its main objectives are to plan and promote the development modules in metropolitan area of Kolkata. It allots new land sites for new ventures and takes care of the already existing structures in the city. Apart from these services, Kolkata metropolitan development authority provides and manages basic amenities like water, waste management and drainage dispatch. Kolkata metropolitan development authority is termed as Technical Secretariat to KMPC (Kolkata Metropolitan Planning Committee).

For Kolkata metropolitan development authority the biggest challenge faced is the population of the city. As a reason it development authority is constantly keeping track of this account and drafting layout plans for numerous housing schemes. Hyderabad Urban Development Authority

The Hyderabad Urban Development Authority was formed in the year 1975 by the state government of Andhra Pradesh. The objectives behind the establishment of Hyderabad urban development authority are: planning, co-ordinated development and finally the implementation protocol of drafted plans for urbanisation of the city, Hyderabad. HUDA covers the whole of Hyderabad district along with parts of Medak district. To facilitate the functionality of HUDA, the government of Andhra Pradesh has sub-divided the body in to various departments like: modern Town Planning, Real Estate, Housing Schemes, Urban Development, Hyderabad Property Management and HUDA affordable housing. Of late, HUDA has been offering affordable residential options for those sections of society who are economically weak. HUDA officials possess the knack of turning a thermal dump area on the bank of mighty Lake Husain Sagar which is located in the heart of the city, in to a lush green N.T.R Gardens. Such activities only boosted the land value in Hyderabad and suddenly the city started to gain the commercial popularity which it deserved. Many multi-national firms and corporations are now turning to Hyderabad and choosing it as the place for business activities in south India. Bangalore Development Authority

Bangalore development authority came in to existence in the year 1976 under the Bangalore development authority act issued in the year 1976. After the established of its office, Bangalore development authority has merged the departments of City Improvement Trust Board (CITB) and Bangalore City Planning Authority. The development authority of Bangalore is now undertaking numerous housing projects, layout planning of infrastructural outlook for the city of Bangalore, allots new sites for various residential ventures and commercial complexes. The Bangalore development authority is working with vision of procuring the city with continuous, meticulously planned and sustained growth to meet international standards in the long run.

The numbers suggest that Bangalore development authority has been working hard from its inception to provide the best possible service. As many as 76,000 sites were allotted to many individuals and other building firms to facilitate infrastructural growth in the city.
