Alibag Beach
Mumbai is blessed with many small beaches where you can flee to once the going gets tough. Alibag is one such beach which is a 3-hr drive from Mumbai. This beach is an evergreen beloved of the sea- and -sun freak. The Alibag Beach looks like a tropical island with the lush trees and palm-fringed covering the whole area of the beach. The mango orchards, coconut palms, paddy fields and chikoo wadis make this beach a pleasantly grassy and fresh retreat. The coastline is mostly stunning during monsoons, with downpour washed trees and the goodly scent of wet soil making you desire you could reside here eternally. The trees move to and fro giving fresh air with a fresh feeling. It is quite pleasant to walk on the sandy beach and when the waves hit your feet it make you irresistible from entering the shore. Preferably, it is not advisable to swim at the beach. But you may pamper yourself and enjoy strolling, sunbathing and making sand castles. The bungalows near the Alibag Beach add the scenic beauty to the beach.

Like the other beaches, Alibag beach too has a remarkable fort. The Kulabo Fort is just off the central coast. The fort should be visited when the waves are low or else you may get trapped once the tide is high. The best way to get there is by tanga, which cost you very less and is very exciting. It is a grand place to clamber about and snap pictures of the beach. The other tourist attractions are the pallid marbled Shri Vikram Vinayak Temple and the Magnetic Observatory. The best way to loiter around the beach is by either hiring a tanga or a bullock-cart. The tanga and bullock-cart races are also set on the seaside during March-April for the visitors. Alibag has a variety of accommodation choice, from economy lodges to mid budget motels to luxury hotels. The tourists do not have any problem as all the contemporary amenities and services are provided by these hotels. Expectantly, you will be calmed into the absolute submission by the magic of the Alibag Beach and will desire to spend your time basking on the shore.
